The 143rd Street West Extension involves constructing a new road between Ridge Road and Steiner Road including improvements at Ridge Road, stormwater improvements coordinated jointly with adjacent developments, and multiple culverts and retaining walls.
Project Highlights
- The new 143rd Street roadway will consist of asphalt pavement with curb and gutter between Ridge Road and Steiner Road.
- 143rd Street will consist of single lanes in each direction and a striped center two-way left turn lane.
- Permanent traffic signals at the intersection of 143rd Street and Ridge Road.
- Street lighting along 143rd Street between Ridge Rd. and Steiner Road.
- Dedicated left turn lanes on each leg of the intersection of 143rd Street and Ridge Road.
- New water main along 143rd Street and Ridge Road.
- New sanitary sewer along 143rd Street.
- A new closed storm sewer system, drainage culvert, and detention basins.
- Roadway reconstruction and widening with aggregate shoulders on Ridge Road approximately 1,000’ north and south of the 143rd Street intersection.
- Roadway reconstruction and realignment of Johnson Road for approximately 1,000’ west of Ridge Road.
- Ditch regrading, driveway apron replacements, and aggregate shoulders along Johnson Road and Ridge Road.
- Pavement marking and landscaping improvements throughout.
