This week the contractor continued installing the retaining wall and embankment along Fletcher Lake, poured concrete pavement and curbs for IL 126 Stage 1, continued excavation and placed gravel and asphalt layers on 143rd St. east of IL 126, installed traffic signal foundations and conduit at IL 126 and 143rd St., and began removing pavement and excavating on 143rd St. west of IL 59.
Next week the contractor will continue installing the retaining wall, embankment, and drainage along Fletcher Lake, complete concrete paving for IL 126 Stage 1, begin removing the existing pavement and excavating on IL 126, continue traffic signal work at IL 126 and 143rd St., and continue paving work on 143rd St. west of IL 59.
Beginning 8/5 (weather permitting), the contractor will be updating the traffic control for stage 2 configuration related to the reconstruction work on IL 126.
Summary of Stage 2 Traffic Control and Construction Activity
- Traffic will be shifted to the east
- The west side of IL 126 will be constructed
- Estimated Duration: 8 weeks (weather permitting)
