Beginning 4/18 – Traffic Staging Update for IL Route 59 and 143rd Street

Beginning 4/18, the contractor will be updating the traffic control for stage 1 configurations related to the reconstruction work on IL Route 59 and 143^rd Street.

Summary of Pre-Stage Traffic Control and Construction Activity

 IL Route 59

1. Traffic will be shifted slightly to the inside of each direction
2. New drainage will be constructed along the outside of each direction
3. Estimated Duration: 10 weeks (weather permitting)

143^rd Street – West of IL Route 59

1. Traffic will be shifted to the south on existing pavement
2. The north side of 143^rd Street will be constructed
3. Estimated Duration: 7 weeks (weather permitting)

Motorists can expect longer than average travel times through the work zone and should be on the look out for workers and equipment within the work zone.  Trucks may be entering and exiting so please use caution and slow down.
